FMU and FNS: flexible network solutions from Panasonic

FP-Sigma and FP2 PLCs can now be effortlessly integrated into three different fieldbus systems: PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and CANopen. Fieldbus Master Units (FMU) and Flexible Network Slave (FNS) units are fine tuned to work together.

Due to their compact size, they can be integrated easily into existing applications, enabling flexible solutions for master-slave networks.

Maximum flexibility
By simply attaching the desired FMUs to the CPU, a gateway between various fieldbus systems can be realized.

Just install the FNS "block" you require into the FNS unit and add the slave unit to your fieldbus network. Because there's only one FNS unit for the various networks, we save production costs, saving you money and simplifying your stock management.

Extremely user-friendly
You can configure and diagnose the FMUs with Control Configurator FM, an add-on tool for our programming software Control FPWIN Pro.

For the FNS units, function block libraries are available for all three fieldbus types, including online help and programming examples. This will allow you to drastically reduce the time you need to develop your application!
In order to configure the master-slave network, you will require either a GSD file for PROFIBUS or an EDS file for DeviceNet or CANopen.
