The hardware of the A series is available in two different versions as the A100 and the A200. The A100 allows one camera to be connected, whereas the A200 will support two cameras.

It's small
With its dimensions of just 120 x 40 x 70mm, the A-series Imagechecker is one of the smallest of its kind and thus perfectly contributes to downsizing your equipment. The controller is made for a factory floor environment: it has a robust metal housing which can be easily placed in a switching cabinet. Also, it doesn't have parts such as fans or hard-disk drives that are subject to wear. All ports are located on the front side and the terminal blocks are removable, which makes it even more easier to install the system.

Maximum computing power
A special RISC processor in combination with special ASIC circuits ensures maximum evaluation speed. For example, two camera images can be taken simultaneously in 8.3ms, or images can be stored in real time, which makes it possible to achieve cycle rates of more than 3500 parts/min.

Maximum reliability
The central unit is robust as it designed for use in industry. As it does not need batteries, fans, hard disks or other parts that are subject to wear, its long-term use without maintenance is guaranteed.

Simple communication
A100/200-Series offer two serial ports for transmitting measurement data and inspection results at up to 115kbaud to external devices. Thus it is possible, for example, to communicate with a PLC, e.g. for control, and a PC, e.g. to backup data, at the same time. In addition, A-Series Imagecheckers are equipped with a parallel interface with photocouplers. Its screw terminal blocks can easily be removed and allow for quick wiring.

Double-speed cameras
With the A series, we introduced a progressive scan random shutter camera which provides twice the image capturing speed of conventional models. It can capture an image with full resolution in only 16.7ms, a half-resolution image can be acquired in a mere 8.3ms. The result is fast inspection without having to worry about image quality.

Image storage
The A200 can store up to 32 images (8 images for the A100). For example, image storage can be executed if a product failure occurs. This function is very helpful for analysing errors "offline" or for documentation purposes. Also, using the optional Vision Backup software, you can exchange images with a personal computer and send them to any location via e-mail.

Differences between the A100 and the A200
The A200 is the advanced version of the A100. Instead of being equipped with one camera, it can be equipped with two. It also has more computing power and memory.
