luxlift is music to LUXLIFT IS MUSIC TO HMV's ears

The re-fitting of the HMV store in Sheffield's High Street has included the use of six luxlift devices from Panasonic Electric Works UK to provide easy access to high bay luminaires without the use of specialist access equipment.
One of the main features of the store is the large, two storey high entrance hall that also incorporates the till area. The six luxlifts and light fittings above this area of the sales floor are mounted at around 12m, thus making access for maintenance very difficult.
"With the fittings mounted so high, they would normally require a tower for access since there is no way of reaching the fittings" explained Jeff Dyson of Stirling Contracts who was responsible for the design and installation. "As part of our CDM responsibilities we have to design for ongoing maintenance and the luxlift was the obvious choice for these areas" he added.
The luxlift allows light fittings weighing up to 20kg to be securely fastened to its electric lift mechanism and then automatically lowered and raised up to 20 metres. This eliminates the need for heavy scissors lifts, high ladders or scaffold - thus reducing maintenance costs and minimising disruption to customers.
